We love our beautiful lakeshore! Over the weekend, a group of Goodnight Hall faculty, staff, and students came together and volunteered with the UW-Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve for nearly 20 hours of outdoor field work. Together, the group gathered seeds from the restored prairie outside the building and cleared a massive amount of brush and invasive species from the Willow Creek woods.
Thank you to everyone that helped with the work and for the members of the Goodnight Hall Community Engagement Group for organizing the event!
Visit the CSD sustainability website for more news and information on how individuals in Goodnight Hall are coming together for to make the building more sustainable and have a positive impact on the surrounding environment.
Check out the Lakeshore Nature Preserve website to learn more about the 300-acre natural area situated on campus or volunteering opportunities. Additional “drop-in” volunteering opportunities will be added as the year progresses and needs change seasonally.
