CS&D Advocates in Action!

As members of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Committee of Ambassadors, clinical faculty Rachel Lee and Kim Caul hit Capitol Hill this week, along with over 150+ ASHA professionals, to advocate on behalf of our clients, patients, and students! They were joined by Dawn Wetzel, SLP faculty at Purdue University and represented the Big Ten well!

They reminded representatives that communication is a human right. Their advocacy called for support of legislation and funding that will improve access to speech, language, swallowing, and hearing services; strengthen reimbursement for these essential services; and support workforce development by ensuring students have access to adequate federal student loans.

Proud to use our voices to advocate for our professions, our patients and clients, and the future of communication and hearing care!
