We congratulate Dr. Kimberly Mueller Ph.D., CCC-SLP, on receiving a NIH R01 grant for her project, Novel Story Recall Measures as Indicators of Cognitive Decline Associated with Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and Related Disorders Biomarkers: A Collaborative Study of Existing Data.

This grant will be used to employ existing data from three cohort studies to examine novel measures from the widely used story recall task. Additionally, examining these novel measures and their associations with amyloid, tau, neurodegeneration, and progression to clinical impairment is essential to this project. Use of existing data from multiple AD cohort studies can support early AD detection without additional participant burden.

Early detection of subtle cognitive decline related to developing AD pathology is crucial to identifying individuals who may benefit from early interventions.

Once again, congratulations Dr. Mueller!
