John Munday, a doctoral student working with Dr. Katie Hustad, has had his 2025 American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Conference presentation, “Closing the Gap: A Scoping Review of Speech Intelligibility in Individuals with Cleft Palate” selected for a Centennial Session; a designation identifying presentations that exemplify forward-thinking and the potential to impact the field significantly.

Centennial sessions are characterized by their ability to address future challenges, shape industry practices, and lead transformative initiatives. John’s proposal stood out because it embodied transformational, landmark research. His submission is one of 191 selected out of more than 3700 submissions.

They worked with their collaborators Dr. Katelyn Kotlarek at the University of Wyoming, and Leslie Christensen, a librarian at UW-Madison’s Ebling Library, to put this presentation together.

Congratulations!
