Congratulations to Nirali Patel and Ryan Burdick. Nirali and Ryan are recipients of the Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association (WSHA) 2023 Risa Mari Otto Scholarship.
This memorial scholarship is sponsored by the family and friends of Risa Mari Otto, M.S., CCC-SLP. Risa earned her degree while under treatment for a malignant brain tumor which ultimately caused her death in October 2001. Risa was 28 years old. It is the hope of the various sponsors that Risa’s spark and professional enthusiasm will be perpetuated by the recipients of this award who will commit to treat Hispanic clients in their future work as speech-language pathologists.
