Clinical Statement
Peggy is the Director of Clinical Education for the Department. She has worked with young children with disabilities and children at risk throughout her career. Her recent focus is applying evidence-based methods to increase communication skills using both literacy and performance-based activities. She has primarily applied these techniques with children with Down syndrome and preschoolers in Head Start programs. She developed an “Integrated Treatment” (IT) Summer Program, IT’s Fun, based on these methods for children with Down syndrome. In addition, Peggy has worked for about a decade in Early Intervention, Birth-to-Three in personnel development and in partnership with families to improve service delivery systems.
