Background and Expertise

Liz primarily works with children and adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities, providing assessment and intervention services. She has clinical experience across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and public schools. Liz has also provided services within two University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs), the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Waisman Center.

An invited speaker at the state, national, and international levels, Liz has presented on topics such as promoting communication development in young children, evidence-based practices in assessment and intervention for individuals with autism spectrum disorders, social-communication abilities in individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

At the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic, Liz co-facilitates and provides clinical supervision within the Watch Me Grow program for young children and their families. She also provides outreach services at GiGi’s Playhouse-Madison, an achievement center supporting individuals with Down syndrome. Liz’s professional interests include clinical education, language development, social communication, augmentative and alternative communication, emotional regulation, and executive functioning.
