Ella is a CCC-SLP with experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, and home health settings. She is currently a 1st year PhD student at UW-Madison in the swallowing and salivary bioscience lab under the mentorship of Dr. Nicole Rogus-Pulia. She completed her bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and Disorders at Augustana College (Rock Island, IL) and her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology at UW-Madison. Her areas of interest include exploring psychosocial factors and their impact on dysphagia severity, treatment, and QOL in patients with psychological/substance abuse disorders, ADRD, Head and Neck Cancer, and other neurological disorders.
