Law Enforcement Outreach

SLP graduate students and clinical professors engage in a collaborative outreach with Wisconsin law enforcement. Graduate clinicians and professors provide training about aphasia and strategies that officers can use to communicate that is tailored to their typical training style and accessible in their everyday interactions with the community. Law enforcement officers provide clinicians with feedback to continue tailoring the program to this specific demographic as well as provide insight for best practices for individuals with aphasia in an emergency situation.
