Expressive Language, Anxiety, and Physiological Arousal in Autistic Boys and Boys with Fragile X Syndrome
Emily Lorang is a Ph.D. student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department. She is a certified speech-language pathologist and completed her clinical fellowship providing early intervention using a parent-coaching model. Her research interests include investigating the complexities of communication profiles in children with developmental disabilities of genetic origins, such as in Down syndrome and fragile X syndrome, with or without comorbid autism spectrum disorders. Emily is particularly interested in how factors such as parenting style and physiological arousal can affect language development and language performance in individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
