UW NSSLHA is hosting a DEI speaker event Tuesday, November 14, in B62 Goodnight Hall. Two guest speakers will discuss their journeys to becoming SLPs, as well as the diverse populations that they currently serve. Come to hear their stories and learn more about their scope of practice. Helena White is a high school SLP at Madison East High School. Helena serves a diverse group of students in speech therapy sessions during the school day.
Marianna Rivera is a WU-Madison alumni who majored in CS&D and had a certificate in Chican@/Latinx studies. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her graduate degree and now runs her own clinic as a bilingual SLP in Chicago, IL.
