The Amina Grace Speech and Language Program is a national initiative within GiGi’s Playhouse that provides individuals with Down syndrome access to high-quality speech and language services across the lifespan. At GiGi’s Playhouse–Madison, this program is delivered through a collaborative partnership with the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic.
Through this partnership, UW–Madison graduate student clinicians provide individualized speech-language therapy at GiGi’s Playhouse under the supervision of licensed clinical faculty. This model expands access to services for participants while offering students meaningful, hands-on clinical training in a community-based setting.
GiGi’s Playhouse is part of a national network of achievement centers dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome through free educational, therapeutic, and career development programs. The Amina Grace Speech and Language Program is one of the many ways this mission is realized at the local level.
Together, UW–Madison and GiGi’s Playhouse–Madison share a commitment to inclusive, person- and family-centered care, creating opportunities for individuals and families in the greater Madison community while preparing the next generation of clinicians.
