Prophylactic Exercise-Based Tongue Intervention on Swallow Function and Tongue Muscle Pathology in a Translational Model of Chemoradiation Therapy
Nicole is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2017 with a B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and earned her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2019. Nicole has a deep passion for working with patients diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer, with a specific interest in addressing dysphagia within this population. Her research interests include: the effects of chemotherapy/radiation on swallow function in the rat model; intervention methods as related to dysphagia management; the development of Late Radiation Associated Dysphagia – with future aims of translating these findings to clinical research and eventual implementation into clinical practice.
