Participant Information

Research Description and Purpose

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are looking for participants for a study about social communication skills in adults with and without brain injury. Findings from this study will be used to improve treatment for adults with brain injury, so that their therapy can focus on the most useful communication skills.

Would the study be a good fit for me? 

This study may be a good fit for you if:

  • You are an adult between the age of 18-65 years
  • You are a Native English speaker

What would happen if I took part in the study?

  • If you decide to take part in the research study, you would:
  • Watch a videotape of people talking and answer questions about their communication skills
  • Read some sentences and answer some questions about them
  • Complete some tests and surveys of language and thinking ability
  • Complete some communication tasks with robots

Participants who take part in the study will be paid $50 for each completed study session.

Location of Research

This research will take place at Goodnight Hall, on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
