Following retirement from the department in 1992, Tweed spent a year teaching Introduction to Audiology to undergraduates and to speech/language graduate students. At the same time he was hired as a consultant in audiology by the Episense Research Program, Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences (Beaver Dam Studies) where he continues to the present, although at a reduced involvement now that he is a bona fide octogenarian. He also enjoys woodworking, plays in three musical groups, is active in a local service organization, former runner who now walks every day, travels with wife Jan and likes to brag about all seven grandchildren.
