Clinical Statement

Dr. Buhr-Lawler with a student in clinic

Dr. Buhr-Lawler’s clinical passion is working with deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. She is particularly interested in using hearing technology to improve communication for all people. Dr. Buhr-Lawler has worked on adult and pediatric multidisciplinary teams as a cochlear implant audiologist, and she also has expertise in diagnostic audiologic assessment of individuals of all ages. She has extensive experience selecting and fitting amplification (hearing aids) and other assistive hearing technology for diverse patient populations, and she believes in using an individualized, patient- and family-centered approach to optimize outcomes for all. Her outside clinical experiences include work at children’s hospital, an eye and ear specialty hospital, and a community hospital. Dr. Buhr-Lawler has an ongoing interest in audiology clinical outreach, which she believes benefits patients, students, and the greater community.
