Topic: Assessing Black Children’s Narrative Language: Bringing Together Multiple Methods and Multiple Perspectives
The current study addresses educational dis parities and is designed to identify culturally-fair measures of narrative language—a skill that predicts students’ academic outcomes in literacy. We examine ways in which the language of school-age African American students is evaluated informally and formally, thereby improving academic assessment of this group
