UWSHC offers services to address the speech and voice preservation needs of adults diagnosed with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Huntington’s Disease. Recording of the speech and voice of clients is completed through a variety of voice, message and legacy banking processes. UWSHC clinicians provide assessment, education on banking options, and demonstrations of technology and guidance through the recording process. Clinicians also work with the Communication Aids Systems Clinic at the Waisman Center to support selection and implementation of communication devices. Counseling for clients, family members, and relevant others is an integral part of the treatment process.
Please direct any specific UWSHC voice banking questions to voicebanking@csd.wisc.edu or call (608) 262-3951.
