UWSHC offers services to address the speech, language, cognitive and social communication needs of adolescents and adults resulting from neurological disorders. These include stroke, brain injury, degenerative disease processes, and other causes. Education and informational counseling for family members, partners, caregivers and other individuals that interact with the patient is an integral part of the treatment process.
In addition to individualized assessment and treatment services, a variety of groups are offered based on client need and availability. Examples include supported conversation in aphasia group and communication partner strategy training.
