Undergraduate and graduate programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders

Current Students

Welcome to the Current Students section of the UW-Madison Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders website. We appreciate your interest in our programs.

Our undergraduate program provides students with a thorough grounding in theoretical and applied aspects of the discipline. Our Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Audiology (AuD) programs train students to provide the highest-quality evidence-based clinical service for individuals with speech, language, hearing, vestibular, and swallowing disorders—across the lifespan. Our doctoral (PhD) and MS/PhD programs provide students with the breadth and depth of knowledge necessary to become independent scholars, educators, and leaders for the future.

Both our clinical degree program in Audiology and clinical master's degree program in Speech-Language Pathology is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA).  The degree awarded at the completion of the Audiology program is an Au.D., from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, or the degree awarded at the completion of the Speech-Language Pathology program is an M.S., from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.
